The introductory meeting on investment opportunities provided by the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) took place

On February 22, 2024, the American Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the USAID Entrepreneurship and Business Environment Development Project (USAID FGI), successfully hosted an event, acquainting Chamber members and partners with investment opportunities provided by the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). Mr. Timothy Sherwood, Director of Investments at DFC, was the guest and speaker at the event.

During his presentation, Mr. Timothy Sherwood shared detailed information about DFC and its products, offering a wide range of opportunities for the private sector and commercial banks. Key products central to DFC’s operations include debt financing, providing direct loans ranging from 1 million to 1 billion U.S. dollars with terms up to 25 years; equity investments involving direct investments in the equity capital of companies or projects in developing countries to spur development; and investment funds designed to invest in direct investment funds in developing markets, aimed at addressing the issue of investment capital shortage.

DFC’s investment priorities include climate, health, gender equality, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), financial inclusion, agribusiness/food security, renewable energy, and education. The event concluded with a Q&A session where participants had the opportunity to gain more detailed information from Mr. Sherwood regarding DFC’s investment opportunities and strategies in the Central Asia.
