Online Meeting of the Business Council under the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic

On April 14, 2020 a working meeting of the Business Council under the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic took place. Current business issues caused by the State of Emergency were discussed at the meeting.

Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic Zarina Chekirbaeva, in addition to the anti-crisis measures provided earlier from the Chamber to the Government, voiced the following proposals:

1. Provide interest-free or low interest loans / loans for entrepreneurs of the tourism sector and SMEs
2. Simplify the process of issuing permits to the construction sector
in online-regime
3. Allow to complete the construction of facilities at a high stage of readiness throughout the Kyrgyz Republic
4. To consider granting exemption from taxes for companies of the tourism sector

The videoconference was initiated by the Vice-Speaker of the Council, Member of Parliament, Mr. Abdyvahap Nurbaev. The meeting was attended by MPs and members of the Council Altynbek Sulaimanov and Iskhak Pirmatov as well as by heads of business associations and representatives of international organizations.
