Official visit of women entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan to the United Arab Emirates

The official visit of the Kyrgyz delegation of women entrepreneurs to the UAE successfully took place from October 23 to 28, 2022 at the joint initiative of Nazira Beishenalieva, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UAE Ministry of Economy, the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UAE.

The delegation was comprised of 14 women entrepreneurs dealing in a wide range of economic activities: Sky Industrial Group, Sezimtal School of Inclusive Education, Compass College, Fund for Tourism Development Support in the Kyrgyz Republic OJSC, Ak-Sai Travel Company, DZHOLDOSHEVA dressmaking company, Renewable Energy Sources Association, Kyrgyz Wind System OJSC, World Class, Association of Korean Studies and Korean Language Teachers of Universities of Central Asia, Kyrgyz-Korean College, Bai Elim Company LLC, Luxor Avenue boutiques, Oberon LLC, Ak-Kuu poultry farm and Medex Travel.

The main goal of the visit is to involve the female business community in the development of trade and economic ties between the two countries and search for new opportunities for cooperation.

On the first day, a seminar was organized on the theme “Empowering Women in Business.” In the welcoming speech, Nazira Beishenalieva spoke about delegation, which included representatives of various sectors of the economy, which made it possible to present a detailed outlook of the economy of Kyrgyzstan. The event discussed the mechanisms for supporting women’s entrepreneurship, the formation of new economic ties and outlined the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in both countries.

As part of the business program of the visit, Kyrgyz delegation met with Mr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, UAE State Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives of local business circles.

The delegation visited the UAE General Women’s Union, which is intended to serve as the national mechanism for women’s empowerment in the UAE. An excursion to the largest solar power station, GW Al Dhafra PV2, was arranged.

On October 25, 2022, the delegation of 14 people visited FDI Dubai and Youth Council Hub. During the visit to DFI Dubai, the delegation met with H.E. Sheikh Fahad Jabor Mohamed Al Thani, Director of the Investment Support Section of Dubai FDI. Participants talked about their activities and shared their projects. HE Fahad Al Thani listened to each participant and shared his vision of the joint work of Kyrgyzstan and the Arab Emirates. Kyrgyz delegations are interested in such areas as investment, tourism, energy, health, culture and environment.

Dubai FDI is part of the Dubai Department of Economic Development, they provide important information and invaluable support to foreign enterprises seeking to invest in Dubai’s economy and take advantage of its global strategic importance.

On the same day the delegation met with H.E. Shamma bint Suhail bin Faris Al Mazrui, the UAE Minister of State for Youth and get acquainted with the UAE Youth Councils at the Youth Hub. Youth Councils is managed by Federal Youth Authority in the UAE were formed under the direction of leadership who believe that Youth are the key to the country’s future success.

The members of the Kyrgyz and UAE business circles outlined the focus of their companies’ operation and emphasized the role of close cooperation and further bilateral mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.

On October 27, the Kyrgyz delegation visited the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates and met with Mr. Khalifa AlJaziri, Advisor to the Commercial affairs regulatory sector of the Ministry of Economy UAE. In the meeting the Ministry presented the socio-economic and investment potential of the United Arab Emirates and the activities of Projects of the 50 and the Entrepreneurial Nation, which excited keen interest of the Kyrgyz party.

The “Projects of the 50” is a series of developmental and economic projects that aim to accelerate the UAE’s development and transform it into a comprehensive hub in all sectors and establish its status as an ideal destination for talents and investors. The “Projects of the 50” covers several key sectors such as: economy, entrepreneurship, advanced skills, digital economy, space and advanced technologies.

The Entrepreneurial Nation is an initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy, uniting the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the UAE and the structures of the public and private sectors to support the development of entrepreneurs and SMEs.

Moreover, the business delegation visited the UAE Women’s Business Council and met with its Chair, Ms. Farida Kambar Al Awadi and board members. H.H. Farida Kambar Al Awadi, Chair of the Women’s Business Council, awarded Nazira Beishenaliyeva, Chair of the AmCham Board of Directors, for the start of mutually beneficial relations between the Kyrgyz and UAE women entrepreneurs. The members of the Kyrgyz and UAE business circles outlined the focus of their companies’ operation and emphasized the role of close cooperation and further bilateral mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.

In Sharjah the delegation had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Sharjah Business Women Council, talk about themselves and find partners. An excursion to the House of Wisdom was organized, an innovative cultural center, which became a new platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge.
