Kyrgyz delegation visited Washington as part of a business visit to the United States

On November 30, 2022, within a business visit to the United States, with the support of the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, delegations visited a number of organizations – Center for International Private Enterprise), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

CIPE is a non-governmental research organization in the United States, one of the four core institutes of the National Endowment for Democracy and an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Sobir Kurbanov, Program Officer and Elizabeth Lewis, Program Associate in Central Asia, spoke about the role of the company – to support local organizations around the world that build democracy by developing private entrepreneurship.

During the visit to the US Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest non-profit lobbying organization, the delegation had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of the Chamber, ask questions of interest and establish useful contacts. The Chamber has over 300,000 members, 3,000 regional and state chambers affiliated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, more than 90 U.S. Chambers of Commerce overseas.

On December 1, 2022, the Kyrgyz delegation met with representatives of the International Trade Administration (ITA) under the US Department of Commerce. ITA strengthens the competitiveness of the US industry, promotes trade, ensures fair trade through the rigorous enforcement of our trade laws and agreements.

On the same day, a meeting was held with representatives of Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP). CLDP is a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce that provides government-to-government legal framework technical assistance to improve countries’ ability to meet international and bilateral trade obligations.

At a meeting with The Cyber Readiness Institute (CRI), the delegation got acquainted with their activities. CRI, a non-profit, is a joint initiative between the Center for Global Enterprise (CGE) and the Center for Responsible Enterprise And Trade (CREATe.org). CRI will convene senior leaders of global companies from across sectors to develop best practices for managing the people, processes, and technology needed for effective cybersecurity.
