On April 24th, 2023, a round table was held organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in in conjunction with the International Business Council, as part of the “Development of Business and Support of Entrepreneurship Through Dialogue” project supported by the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. Representatives from the business community, government agencies, and specialists in the field of intellectual property took part in this event.

During the meeting, participants discussed draft laws related to intellectual property: the draft law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Customs Regulation” and the draft constitutional law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the State Language of the Kyrgyz Republic.” Representatives of the business community and intellectual property specialists noted some risks inherent in the two draft laws. On their part, representatives of government agencies expressed readiness to consider proposals from event participants and find ways to resolve the issues raised.

The ” Development of Business and Support of Entrepreneurship Through Dialogue ” project, supported by the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan and implemented by the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic, aims to expand the rights and opportunities of businesses and entrepreneurs by providing a platform for public-private dialogue. We hope for further productive cooperation and the resolution of important issues in the interests of business development in the country.
