Exclusive meeting with Victoria Silchenko, a special guest, leading alternative funding expert in the United States

On April 22, 2019 the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic held an exclusive meeting for its members with a special guest, Ms. Victoria Silchenko, Ph.D., a leading alternative funding expert in the United States.

Dr. Silchenko is an economist turned entrepreneur and adviser, known for being at the forefront of next-generation impact-driven venture financing models in the new digital era. Dr. Silchenko is a prominent voice in the entrepreneurial community focusing on modern capital formation issues, including crowdfunding, venture capital and new tools enabled by blockchain. In the past decade, Victoria has conducted pioneering studies and written research-driven and thought-provocative articles for the Huffington Post, Los Angeles Business Journal, Crowdfund Insider and many others; she has also been featured by numerous industry channels such as Forbes, Equities.com, etc. Recognized by the Biz Journal as a Women of Influence (2017), she has been invited to both the White House and the UN Leadership Summit in recognition of her efforts and has been selected as an “Ambassador of Entrepreneurship” by the U.S. Department of State Speaker Program “Entrepreneurship – Technology Hubs”.

Dr. Silchenko is the founder & CEO of Metropole Capital Group which she launched in 2004 in Los Angeles, California, to provide strategic and capital formation advisory services. During the dinner, AmCham members talked about the current business environment in Kyrgyzstan and stressed how important is the cooperation between the Kyrgyz Government and businesses. Dr. Silchenko spoke about the possible ways to improve the business environment, develop further business processes and underlined the importance of a good team (rather invest in A team with a B idea, or B team with an A idea).
