Football for children with cerebral palsy

On May 26, 2018 a football match was held for children with cerebral palsy. This kind of football, created specifically for children with special needs, is officially recognized by FIFA. The American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic acted as the main sponsor of the event, providing all children with football uniforms.

The main goal of the project is to involve as many children as possible in football, to increase the self-esteem of children with cerebral palsy, their attitude to themselves and to life in general, and the society towards them. The public fund “Football for All” in cooperation with the Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football (IFCPF) conducted a 3-day specialized CP Football course. International IFCPF trainers – Tom Langen and Rene Jurrius were invited to conduct the course. 37 participants took part in the training and 22 of them have received international certificates that give them the right to work and train children with special needs.

Among participants were professional football coaches, employees of special schools in Bishkek (#22, 30 and 34), Obereg center, Hand in Hand, Autism Victory and children’s homes in Jalal-Abad and Sokuluk Districts.
