AmCham delegation visit Austin, Texas as part of US business tour

On November 28, 2022, within a visit to Austin, Texas, the delegation met with representatives of ClearBlade and Tech Ranch Austin, and a tour of the McCombs School of Business was organized.

ClearBlade is driving enterprise digital transformation through Intelligent Assets. ClearBlade was founded out of a clear and present need for a flexible and secure Internet of Things platform. Today, the software runs massive, intricate enterprise IoTs from on-prem to edge to cloud.

During a meeting at Tech Ranch Austin, the company’s Founder & CEO, Kevin Koym, held a session “How to Start a Business in the United States,” which aroused keen interest from the delegation. Tech Ranch is a venture accelerator comprised of a global ecosystem of entrepreneurs, businesses, investors and community leaders. It provides the social capital, personal development, professional knowledge and communal support necessary for entrepreneurs around the world to create companies that positively impact their local communities and solve pervasive global social challenges.

The McCombs School of Business, a leading business school offering undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs for its students. One of the McCombs School’s programs is the Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition, which is the world’s oldest running competition for new businesses between business schools.

On November 29, the delegation visited the Austin Chamber of Commerce office, BioDAF, Center for Global Trade at World Affairs Council of Austin and Webber Air Cargo, where company representatives shared their professional experiences.

Within the meeting, Roland Peña, Senior Vice President of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, spoke about the state of Texas, business development opportunities and the state’s investment potential. About 99.8 percent of all firms in Texas are considered small businesses, and those businesses employ about 5 million Texans directly or indirectly. Texas, thanks to cities like Houston and Dallas and new tech centers like Austin, is among the best places in the country to launch a new company. The Texas economy is one of the largest and fastest growing economies in the United States. According to the tax business climate, Texas ranks 10th in the country. Texas offers a friendly business environment and unlimited opportunities for business people starting the business.

The business delegation also visited BioDAF and met with John Endendyk, Executive Vice President. BioDAF is committed to developing sustainable projects that ultimately address water pollution in ecosystems and deliver better outcomes for customers. During the event, the participants shared their knowledge and experience, exchanged contacts and discussed the possibilities of international cooperation.

The business delegation met with Ben Ramirez, VP & Executive Director at the Center for Global Trade. The center focuses on engaging Austin residents in international affairs and foreign policy issues. During the meeting, the delegation participants had the opportunity to reveal certain aspects of doing business in the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of their business.

Webber Air Cargo is an Austin, Texas-based S corporation that principally provides cargo-related airport planning services. Michael Webber, the company’s president, spoke about his corporation. This meeting allowed the parties to exchange experience and knowledge, as well as ask questions of interest about doing business in the cargo transportation industry in a particularly difficult time.
