Dastan Imanaliev, the Executive Director of the Chamber, participated in the official opening ceremony of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund

On April 14, Dastan Imanaliev, the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic, participated in the official opening ceremony of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund with the participation of Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Akylbek Japarov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sardor Umurzakov, and representatives of business and the diplomatic service.

During the speech, representatives of both parties noted that the launch of the fund is an important event in the history of trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

The agreement on the Fund was signed during the state visit of President Sadyr Japarov to Uzbekistan in March 2021. The Uzbek-Kyrgyz Fund was established to promote economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the modernization and development of the economies of the Parties, and the effective use of bilateral cooperation opportunities.

The institution should finance self-sustaining projects in the priority sectors of the Kyrgyz economy by providing loans, participation in capital and the use of other financial instruments in relations with business entities. In the following areas: agro-industrial complex; garment and textile industries; manufacturing; mining and metallurgy; transport; housing construction; trade; development of entrepreneurship; energy complex; infrastructure development; development of tourism.
