Business Tour in the USA: Washington D.C. and New York for the AmCham Business Delegation

A business delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic has arrived in the United States to participate in a business tour of Washington, D.C., and New York City from June 21 to June 30, 2024.

The program is attended by representatives of Kyrgyz companies: Amanat Asia LLC, Nurzaman Construction Company, Alliance Altyn LLC, OJSC Bakai Bank, the construction company “Rayan Building”, and Jashylcha LLC.

On June 23, 2024, the SelectUSA Investment Summit began, with our delegation participating. The SelectUSA Investment Summit is the highest profile event in the United States aimed at facilitating business investment by bringing together thousands of investors, companies, economic development organizations (EDOs), and industry experts to make deals happen.

On June 24, 2024, the plenary sessions featured U.S. Cabinet officials, including U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Deputy Secretary David Turk, United States Department of Defense Deputy Secretary Kathleen Hicks, and U.S. Department of Labor Acting Secretary Julie Su. Additionally, U.S. Governors and Chief Executive Officers from key U.S. industries participated.

The delegation also participated in the SelectUSA exhibition, where they explored booths presented by economic development entities, service providers, industry experts, and international technology startups.

On June 24, 2024, as part of AmCham business tour in the United States, the delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic, together with representatives from AmCham Uzbekistan, met with the representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting, parties discussed various opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade and investment. They agreed to continue working together to foster stronger
economic ties and support business development initiatives between countries.

Within the AmCham business tour, the AmCham Kyrgyzstan delegation met with James Golsen, Deputy Director General of the U.S. Commercial Service at the International Trade Administration (ITA). The meeting also included participants from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.

The purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate support from a high-ranking representative of the U.S. Department of Commerce and to provide companies with the opportunity to connect with colleagues from different countries.

On June 27, 2024, a business delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce visited the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and met with Mr. Randy Peers, President of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. During the meeting, Mr. Peers presented Brooklyn as the most populous borough of New York City, highlighting its rich potential for business development and investments.

He shared the mission and values of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing its significant role in advocating for business interests in the city for over a century. A key focus was on discussing the Chamber’s events aimed at stimulating economic growth and protecting the interests of entrepreneurs.

Following the visit to the Chamber of Commerce, our delegation had a tour to the NewLab office, which serves as a hub for innovation and is home to over 250 startups.
Here, we observed a dynamic community of entrepreneurs and investors working in advanced technologies in energy, mobility, and materials.

Additionally, the delegation visited BioBAT, a unique partnership between the SUNY Research Foundation, Downstate Medical Center, and the New York City Economic
Development Corporation. The BioBAT tour showcased an innovative approach to developing and commercializing biotechnologies, actively supporting the advancement of medical and scientific research in the region.

The AmCham delegation visited the office of the leading next-generation brokerage company 3.0 — SERHANT. Founded during the global pandemic, SERHANT has established itself as an innovative leader in the real estate market by applying advanced approaches and technologies, including the development of the SERHANT platform.

During the visit, the delegation met with Ms. Marsha B. Murphy, a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson representing the SERHANT team. Marsha specializes in development, redevelopment, and value-add acquisitions and is in the process of securing investment properties all over the US.

The delegation also met with representatives from Andersen’s office. Andersen is known for its highly qualified tax consulting services for international companies. During the meeting, current issues related to the classification of legal entities and taxation were discussed, which proved to be very informative and useful for the delegation members.
