The American Chamber of Commerce expresses its profound condolences to the family on the untimely demise of Mr. Robin Ord-Smith

The American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic expresses its profound condolences to the family and friends on the untimely demise of Mr. Robin Ord-Smith, the Business Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic. We have lost a true friend, like-minded and ally.

Over the years of his work, with his direct participation, significant changes have occurred in the socio-economic sphere of the Kyrgyz Republic. Due to his experience, knowledge, dedication, high moral and ethical principles, Mr. Ord-Smith enjoyed with colleagues, representatives of the public and private sectors, well-deserved authority and respect.

He truly loved Kyrgyzstan, and even left the diplomatic service to serve the people of Kyrgyzstan and protect the legal rights, freedoms and interests of the Kyrgyz business community. He made an invaluable contribution by supporting the initiative to create an Advisory Council under the Prosecutor General’s Office to protect the rights of entrepreneurs and investors.

He was a mentor in the AmCham Mentors Club program, sharing his knowledge and experience, inspiring and helping to develop in the personal and professional life of his mentees, young generation of Kyrgyzstan.

Mr. Robin Ord-Smith lived a decent life. He was an honest, kind and decent person, a bright representative of his generation, enjoyed the well-deserved respect of colleagues.

We express our deep condolences to his family and friends, share with them the pain and bitterness of irreparable loss. The bright memory of this energetic and cheerful person will forever remain in our hearts.
