AmCham Company Tour to L’Occitane en Provence

On December 14, 2018, the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic conducted a Company Tour to the French cosmetics store L’Occitane en Provence. During the tour, guests were treated to refreshments, a presentation, a hand care procedure and professional advice on facial skin care.

The founder of L’OCCITANE en Provence in Kyrgyzstan, Abir Zhusupbekov, told about the history of the company. In 1976, a 23-year-old Olivier Bossant, who had nothing but a distiller, a small truck and knowledge of plants, received rosemary essential oil, which he began selling in local Provence markets. Gradually, he expanded his production from oils to soaps and creams, drawing inspiration from the land on which he grew up to bring natural beauty into homes around the world.

The official representative office of L’Occitane en Provence in Kyrgyzstan opened in 2013. Worldwide, L’Occitane en Provence branches are located in 80 countries. All the furniture and materials in the store were brought from France (the store’s design is part of the chain’s unified corporate style). Further, the Director of L’Occitane en Provence, Nadezhda Kuzminykh, led the guests to receive procedures for facial and hand care. Also during the tour, participants were given an exclusive 20% discount on premium perfumery and cosmetic products.

We sincerely thank Mr. Zhusupbekov, Ms. Kuzminykh and the L’Occitane en Provence team in Kyrgyzstan for their warm welcome and hospitality.
