On September 22, members of the American Chamber of Commerce participated in a meeting with the World Bank’s Country Private Sector Diagnostic (CPSD) team.
The meeting was attended by Sakshi Varma, Senior Operations Officer, and Todor Milchevski, Senior Private Sector Specialist. The consultation aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the key sectors of the Kyrgyz Republic’s economy and to assess their potential for private investment.
CPSD is one of the five core country diagnostic studies carried out by the World Bank Group and is designed to identify sectors of the economy with untapped private investment potential. By applying an investor’s perspective, CPSD highlights the constraints hindering private sector investment in commercially promising sectors and recommends a targeted set of policy measures that the government may consider to address these barriers.
During the meeting, AmCham member companies from the financial sector, transportation and logistics, as well as tourism shared their observations and insights on the prospects for attracting private investment and highlighted their main ideas on improving the investment potential in the Kyrgyz Republic.
