On October 24-25, 2024, the 1st Eurasian Economic Summit of AmChams took place in Istanbul, Turkey, bringing together business leaders, politicians, and experts from various countries in the region. The event served as a dynamic platform for discussing key issues impacting economic growth and the development of regional cooperation. Summit participants had a unique opportunity to exchange views with high-level speakers, addressing critical topics in areas such as trade, energy, finance, technology, tourism, and manufacturing.
The first day of the summit focused on discussing the potential of the Trans-Caspian Corridor, opportunities for developing regional energy cooperation, and the role of finance in stimulating growth. Significant attention was also given to technological and industrial innovation processes, the prospects of the tourism sector, and strategies for enhancing manufacturing resilience in the face of global competition.
The second day of the summit was dedicated to discussing multilateral cooperation and assessing the outcomes of the newly established platform. Participants actively debated opportunities for forming a joint economic and business agenda, implementing collaborative projects, and strengthening trust-based relationships between the countries of Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.
One of the highlights of the day was the reception hosted by Ms. Julie Eadeh, U.S. Consul General in Istanbul, at her residence overlooking the Bosphorus. This gathering became a symbol of strengthening ties between American and regional companies and provided summit participants with an opportunity to discuss the prospects for further cooperation.
During the reception, AmCham Turkiye presented commemorative awards in honor of the historic summit. One of the awardees was Altynai Asanova, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic, for her contribution to strengthening regional economic ties and her active participation in the development of business dialogue.
