New AmCham Development Advisor Ms. Alice Chan

We are glad to present you the AmCham new staff member Ms. Alice Chan!

Ms. Chan joined AmCham in November 2013 as the new Development Advisor. Besides supporting AmCham members, she will also provide technical and business assistance for AmCham’s work in promoting a positive business and trade environment in the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, Alice will spend part of her time working at USAID to support their economic growth and business reform programs.

Ms. Chan brings extensive experience from both the public and private sector in economic development. Prior to moving to Bishkek, she worked on a number of different economic development projects, including for USAID, Deloitte, UNDP, and the National Cooperative Business Association. Her specialties and interests include project design, proposal writing, microfinance, business reform, corporate governance, agriculture/agribusiness, women and youth’s economic empowerment, and public-private partnerships. Alice received her MBA and Master’s Degree in International Development Studies from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She is from San Francisco, California, and enjoys traveling, photography, and camping. Besides the United States, she has lived in Africa, Asia, and Europe previously and has traveled to over 40 countries.
