April, 28^th, 2010. A meeting was provided by the Advisory Council of the State Customs Service at KR Government, to which the American Chamber of Commerce was invited. The Chairman of State Customs Service Kulmatov K.K. initiated this meeting. The American Chamber of Commerce representatives were Chairman of Board Directors Glen Lockwood, Executive Director AmCham Ainura Cholponkulova. Mr. Kulmatov K.K. informed participants of the current situation of State Customs Service, and also about plans and actions made by the customs service for perfection of its work.

In his speech he emphasized the intention to improve administration on simplified order of registration of customs cargoes, elimination of "grey schemes” that will allow to raise the profitable part of the state budget by 25 %. He also mentioned that by governmental order of KR quotas are canceled on flour and sugar.

Summing up the results of the meeting, Mr. Kulmatov stated that he will do everything necessary to ensure that customs service is guided by principles of transparency and legality. Management of the State Customs Service is ready for open dialogue.
