Visa information

General Information:

Upon arrival to Kyrgyz Republic everyone must have a valid passport and entry visa. Visas can be obtained at the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic abroad (in case if there is no Kyrgyz Embassy in your country, visa can be obtained at the Embassy of Russian Federation and Kazakhstan, or Consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bishkek airport "Manas" on arrival).

Please pay attention: This embassies open visa only if you have an invitation / visa support received from the company from the country of destination.

Note: Every foreigner on arrival must be registered in the local police station, in case if he/she stays in Kyrgyzstan for more than three days, excluding weekends.

To receive a visa you should submit the following papers to the consulate:
♦ A visa application form, obtained from the Consulate, travel agencies or visa services must be filled out in print letters or typed.
♦ One passport size photo of the applicant.
♦ Applicant's passport (not a photocopy).
♦ (a) For those visiting Kyrgyzstan on invitation from Kyrgyz state organizations or with official government business for the period of up to one month it is necessary to submit a cover letter from his/her department/company head or letter of invitation from contact organization in Kyrgyzstan, summarizing the purpose of the trip, stating the dates of arrival and departure, the confirmation of contact organization or department for meeting, Kyrgyz or other within Kyrgyzstan, as well as the address and telephone number.
♦ (b) For those travelling to Kyrgyzstan with private, business or other purposes visa support is required from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (for those visiting their friends or relatives from the Ministry of Interior) of the Kyrgyz Republic (contact your partner/host in Kyrgyzstan).
♦ (c) For individual tourists staying in Kyrgyzstan up to 1 month it is necessary to submit a personal letter or letter from travel agency stating the dates of arrival and departure, contact organization or private host and the places of stay in Kyrgyzstan.
♦ (d) For group tourists it is necessary to submit a letter from travel agency indicating the exact dates of arrival and departure, contact tourist agency/travel agent from Kyrgyzstan, as well as the list of tourists with passports #.
♦ (e) For visas other than single-entry, double-entry or more than one month visa support is required from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic (contact your partner in Kyrgyzstan).
♦ A business check, cashier's check or money order (no personal checks or cash) made out to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
♦ Those applying by mail must include a self-addressed envelope with a pre-paid postage or a completed mail form.

Processing fees:

Entry visas
Single entry visa (1 month) - $50; (up to 3 months ) - $90;
Double entry visa for 1 month - $80;
Multiple entry visa for 3 months - $120;
Multiple entry visa for 6 months - $140;
Multiple entry visa for 1 year and more year - $200;
Transit visas - $25
Processing time - 5 days.
Rush processing - 2 days (processing fee increases by 50% per each visa).
Same-day processing (processing fee increases by 100% per each visa, apply by 10 am).

List of countries whose citizens (the owners of all types of passports) have visa-free regime for entering the Kyrgyz Republic:

The Republic of Azerbaijan, Albania, The Republic of Armenia, The Republic of Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, The Republic of Kazakhstan, North Korea, The Republic of Cuba, Macedonia, Malaysia (within 3 months), Republic of Moldova, Mongolia (within 3 months), Poland, The Russian Federation, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, SRV, The Republic of Tajikistan, The Republic of Turkey (within 1 month), Ukraine, Croatia, Czech Republic, Yugoslavia, Japan.

On June 14, 2012 Jogorku Kenesh adopted a bill about abolition of visas for 44 developed countries, which will come into force upon signature of the President of KR Almazbek Atambaev.

Visa-free regime will be implemented unilaterally by 2020, only by Kyrgyzstan. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan will have to obtain visas for an entry into any of these 44 countries, as before, while citizens of these countries can easily come to Kyrgyzstan for a period of 60 days.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vatican, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, South Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco New Zealand, Norway, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Qatar, Brunei, Bahrain.

List of countries whose citizens (the holders of diplomatic and service passports) have visa-free regime for entering the Kyrgyz Republic for a period up to one month:

The Republic of Hungary, China (for the owners of regular passports for service purposes), Turkmenistan, The Republic of Uzbekistan.

List of countries whose citizens (the holders of diplomatic passports) have visa-free regime for entering the Kyrgyz Republic:

Republic of Austria, Kingdom of Belgium, U.K., The Hellenic Republic, Kingdom of Denmark, Republic of Iceland, Kingdom of Spain, The Islamic Republic of Iran (within one month), The Italian Republic, Canada, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kingdom of Norway, Portuguese Republic, United States of America, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Finland, The French Republic, The Swiss Republic, Kingdom of Sweden.

List of countries whose citizens, in case of arrival to the Kyrgyz Republic with investment, business and tourist purposes, may obtain entry-exit visas in the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Kyrgyz Republic abroad, as well as in the consular agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic in the airport "Manas" of Kyrgyzstan on the basis of personal appeals for a period up to one month:
