AmCham Committees

On October 2007 seven Committees within AmCham were founded. Among them are: Industry & Investment Committee, Kyrgyz – U.S. Business Committee, Tax, Accounting & Law Committee, Banking and Finance Committee, Travel & Tourism Committee, IT, Communication & Marketing Committee, Social Affairs & Corporate Responsibility Committee. The Committees act as a bridge in building dialogue between Kyrgyz government officials and AmCham members, providing comments on their issues to policy-makers; holding regular meetings, round tables as well as influencing the law-making process. On November 5, 2007 during the first meeting, each AmCham Committee identified its priorities and discussed work plans. The bottom line of the meeting: Each Committee elected its Chair and AmCham Committees plans to conduct their own regular meetings, thematic round tables based on the priority of each committee and establish links with relevant committees from the regional AmChams.

            Industry & Investment Committee. Chairman: Vladislav Lisovskiy, General Director, “Shalom” and his Deputy: Tokon Omuralieva, Manager, “Dordoi Plaza”.  Priority: Simplification of obtaining permits for the construction of industrial facilities, and acquisition of land.

            Kyrgyz – U.S. Business Committee. Chairman: Niyazbek Aldashev, General Director, “Lorenz” and his Deputy: Aida Satylganova, Lawyer, “Kalikova & Associates”.  Priority: Facilitate Kyrgyz-US trade and economic relations and exploring possible ways of raising the profiles of Kyrgyzstan and USA among investors from both countries to foster and strengthen mutually beneficial relations.

            Tax, Accounting & Law Committee. Committee elected Chairman and Deputy. Chairman: Andrey Krasnikov, Chief Law & Tax Department, “Aiten Group” and his Deputy: Cholpon Borkoeva, Deputy Financial Director, “TOKTOM”. Priority: Participation in reforming of Tax Code.

            Banking and Finance Committee. Chairman: Naeemullah Jan, General Manager, “National Bank of Pakistan” and his Deputy: Hikmet Kalender, Deputy General Manager, “DEMIR KYRGYZ International Bank”. Priority: The restoration of public confidence in banks and independence from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic in making decisions to improve the banking system.

            IT, Communication & Marketing Committee. Chairman: Kubat Kartanbaev, General Director, “TOKTOM” and Deputy: Eugeniya Shatunova, Chief of Marketing Department, “AUB”. Priority: Development an electronic signature to improve the country's electronic document circulation, as well as anti-piracy campaign.

            Social Affairs & Corporate Responsibility Committee. Chair: Zamira Akbagysheva, President of “Congress of Woman of Kyrgyz Republic” and her Deputy: Emil Sultanbaev Director, “DCCA”. Priority: promoting training of professionals for the private sector and the participation of employers in developing future cadres.
